Tomasa C. Rodriguez

Tomasa C. Rodriguez, age 84, of Rio Hondo, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026. She was born on March 16, 1942, in Laureles, Texas, to Andres Cruz and Carlota Mendieta.

Tomasa was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and dedicated homemaker. Throughout her life, she worked in agriculture and housekeeping until she was no longer able to work. She found her greatest joy in caring for her family, especially by preparing meals for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aroma of a home-cooked meal. She will be remembered for her selfless heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and generosity.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Guadalupe Rodriguez; her son, Jose Guadalupe Rodriguez Jr.; and her daughter, Norma Linda Martinez.

Tomasa leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through her children: Raquel (Andres) Gonzalez, Irma (Armando) Rodriguez, Alicia (Rudy) Garza, Diana Rodriguez, Gloria (Mark) Medrano, Cristina (Daniel) Estrada, Annaliz (Anthony Maestas) Rodriguez, and Esteban (Irma) Rodriguez. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her unconditional love and guidance.

Family and friends are invited to honor Tomasa's life during visitation on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Los Fresnos Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Los Fresnos Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Las Yescas Cemetery in Rio Hondo.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Steven Malachi Lozano, Joel Martinez, Silvano Zavala Jr., Jose Juan Santana Estrada, Andres Gonzalez Jr., Jeffrey Guajardo, David Mathayus Estrada, and Homero Hinojosa. Honorary pallbearers are Miranda Liz Maestas, Ruben Cruz, Mark Medrano Jr., Esteban Rodriguez, and Rudy Garza.

The Rodriguez family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Mt. Sinai Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided to Tomasa during her final days.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Los Fresnos Funeral Home, located at 1005 S. Arroyo Blvd., Los Fresnos, Texas.

Though she will be deeply missed, Tomasa's love, strength, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
