Ramon C. Gomez

Ramon C. Gomez, age 81, of Los Fresnos, Texas, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Veranda Nursing Home in Harlingen. He was born on November 16, 1944, in Brownsville, Texas, to the late Jose Luis Gomez and Teodora Conde Gomez. Ramon dedicated his life to the sea as a respected shrimp boat captain, a role he cherished deeply.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula Gomez; parents, Jose Luis Gomez and Teodora Conde Gomez, his children, George Gomez, Josie Gomez, Celeste Gomez, and Lourdes Gomez; as well as his siblings Felipe Gomez, Josi Ojeda, George Gomez, Mary Helen Martinez, and Luisa Gomez.

Ramon's legacy lives on through his children: Maria Elena Gomez, Doris Gomez, Jose Luis Gomez, Ramon Gomez Jr., Laura Gomez, Angie Gomez, and Veronica D. Gomez. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will hold his memory close to their hearts.

A visitation to celebrate Ramon's life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a service commencing at 6:00 p.m. at Los Fresnos Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Los Fresnos Funeral Home, located at 1005 S. Arroyo Blvd., Los Fresnos, Texas.

Ramon C. Gomez will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he touched throughout his life.
