Ninfa Pena

Ninfa Pena, age 74, of Los Fresnos, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026. She was born on November 10, 1951, in Los Fresnos, Texas, to Miguel Olivarez and Nicanora Herrera Olivarez.

Ninfa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who cherished the people in her life. She had a special way of staying connected to her family and friends and would call them every morning. Those daily calls were a reflection of the love and care she had for those around her, and they will be deeply missed.

Ninfa enjoyed the simple things in life that brought her happiness. She loved watching WWE wrestling on Monday nights and enjoyed watching Kung Fu movies. Most of all, she treasured spending time with her grandchildren. She was always involved in their lives, cheering them on at their soccer games, attending their school activities, and celebrating holidays and special moments together. The memories she created with her grandchildren will forever remain in their hearts.

Ninfa was preceded in death by her son, Adam Pena; her parents, Miguel and Nicanora Olivarez; her sister, Isabel Sanchez; her brother, David Olivarez; and her mother-in-law, Maria Pena.

She is survived by her husband, Margarito Pena Jr.; her son, Steven Pena and his wife, Juliana; her grandchildren, Lilah Jade Pena, Steven Pena Jr., and Aaliyah Mikaela Pena; her sisters, Ana Sanchez and Diana Olivarez; and her brothers, Mike Olivarez and Rey Sotello. On her husband’s side of the family, Ninfa was lovingly looked upon as a big sister by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law. She held a special place in their hearts, and the love and bond they shared will be cherished always.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Los Fresnos Funeral Home.

Ninfa’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all the staff of Greater Valley Hospice, especially her nurse, Mary Rodriguez, for the compassionate care and support given to Ninfa and her family.
