Melquiades Banuelos

Melquiades Banuelos, aged 93, of Olmito, Texas, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his residence. Born on December 10, 1931, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, he was the cherished son of Benito Banuelos and Eligia Galvan. With dedication and skill, Melquiades contributed over 70 years to the construction industry as a carpenter.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Gisela Banuelos, and a loving family, including his children Marta Cruz, Cirilo Cruz, Benita Banuelos Hernandez, Jorge Martinez, Claudia Hernandez, Lydia Mendez, Prima Cruz, and Melquiades Banuelos Jr. Melquiades also leaves behind 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy.

A Memorial Service to honor Melquiades’ life will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Los Fresnos Funeral Home.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Lizeth from United Home Health Care, Cynthia Puente from the City of Brownsville, and all the family members who provided support during his final days.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Los Fresnos Funeral Home, located at 1005 S. Arroyo Blvd., Los Fresnos, Texas.
