Luella completed her high school education in Bishop, California, where she met her lifelong partner.

As a dedicated homemaker, Luella was the heart of her family, serving as the “glue” that brought everyone together. She spent the majority of her life in northern Nevada, where she became actively involved in homemaker organizations and was always ready to extend a helping hand to those in her community. She was known for her exceptional talents as a seamstress and cook, as well as her skill in needlework. A passionate hostess, she loved to gather her family for holiday meals and celebrations, creating cherished memories. Luella traveled extensively with her husband, both across the United States and internationally, enriching her life with experiences and stories. In addition to her many talents, she was an avid reader whose enthusiasm for books and magazines was often shared with others.

Luella had a green thumb and took pride in growing beautiful flowers, especially irises. She could frequently be found nurturing her garden, adding beauty to her surroundings. An accomplished pianist, she filled her home with music, performing during family occasions and gatherings.

She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Francis John DuBois; her husband, Francis ‘Bill’ DuBois; her parents, Roy and Rose Thurlow; her sister, Betty Rose; and her brother-in-law, Jim Gray.
