In Loving Memory of

Lenore Christine (Ecker) Landon

A Life of Dedication and Service

Lenore Christine (Ecker) Landon passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, just two days shy of her 86th birthday. Born on September 11, 1940, to her parents, Venetta (Sparks) Ecker and Raymond Ecker. Lenore lived a life characterized by profound warmth, unwavering dedication, and a deep, abiding love for her family and community.

As one of nine children, Lenore was part of a large and loving family. She is survived by her sisters, Linda, Brenda, and Allison, and her brothers, Lee and Warren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gary and David, and her sister, Gladys.

Her family brought immense pride and joy to her life, and her gentle strength, warmth, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Lenore was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Landon, who passed away on September 12, 2005. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose legacy lives on through her children Terri, Shelley, and Krista; her grandchildren Brock, Nicole, and Connor; and her great-grandchild Aiden.

Lenore pursued a path centered entirely around helping others. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and her Master’s degree in Counseling from Central Michigan University. Her professional career was dedicated to uplifting and empowering individuals. Prior to her well-earned retirement, she served as a Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Michigan—a role she deeply loved and cherished.

Throughout her life, Lenore answered many callings of service and faith. She held the priesthood office of Teacher in Community of Christ and generously volunteered her time and talents in various ways. Following her retirement, she dedicated 15 years of service as a tour guide at the Joseph Smith Historic Site in Nauvoo, Illinois, sharing her passion for history and ministry with countless visitors.

Beyond her career and service, Lenore lived a vibrant life filled with personal passions and joyful adventures. She was an enthusiastic world traveler, exploring incredible destinations across the globe—including Alaska, Europe, Iceland, Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada, and every state in the USA—alongside beloved family and friends. At home, she stayed active with her love for water aerobics and found deep joy in quiet pursuits, whether she was completely engrossed in a good book, watching a good movie, or lovingly crafting handmade crocheted afghans for her children and grandchildren.
