Joyce M. Thiesmeyer

Joyce M. Thiesmeyer, age 71, of Los Fresnos, Texas, passed away on June 14, 2025, in Brownsville, Texas. She was born on August 30, 1953, to Alfred L. Allen and Mary A. Allen.

Joyce was a dedicated educator, holding certification as a Texas teacher via the University of Texas at Brownsville. Her career included serving as both a classroom teacher and a Reading First coordinator for the Santa Rosa Independent School District in Santa Rosa, Texas. Throughout her life, Joyce had a passion for reading, enjoyed homemaking, and cherished the companionship of her beloved pets. In addition to her professional dedication, she was an avid bowler who participated in state-wide competitions.

Joyce’s deep love for her family and friends defined her life, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Mary Allen; her sister, Beverly Lyons; and her brother-in-law, Byron Buratt.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Raleigh J. Thiesmeyer; daughter, Michelle Chifici; son, Joseph J. Thiesmeyer; her granddaughter, Kayla Sibley; and grandson, Christopher Chifici. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Pat Buratt; brothers, Mike and Vernon Allen; brother-in-law, Ted Lyons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Los Fresnos Funeral Home, located at 1005 S. Arroyo Blvd., Los Fresnos, Texas.
