Gilbert Escobar

Gilbert Escobar, age 66, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. He was born June 1, 1957, in Chicago. Illinois to Guadalupe and Herlinda Escobar. Gilbert was a graduate of Pharr San Juan Alamo High School Class of 1976. He received his associate degree from Memphis State University.  Gilbert found joy spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, fishing, boating, and charity work. He will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe; mother, Herlinda; and his siblings, Guadalupe, David, Ruben, and Rebecca Escobar.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Jill Escobar; children, Matthew Escobar (Danielle), Zachary Escobar (Marleeta), and Brianna Escobar; his stepchildren, Frankie Woodruff and Lacy Woodruff; two grandchildren, Alon Escobar and Amalia Escobar; and four step grandchildren, Alliyia Johnson, Carter Woodruff, Brielle Woodruff, and Winnter Woodruff.
