Mr. Anthony Gonzales, aged 56, a resident of Harlingen, Texas, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at his home in Harlingen. He was born on February 18, 1968, in Brownsville, Texas to Raul Gonzales and Francis Rodriguez. Mr. Gonzales pursued Doctrines studies in Bible College and served as a Pastor at Straitwalk Church of San Benito while also working for Austin Star Detonator Company. His hobbies included fishing and barbequing.

He is preceded in death by his father, Raul Gonzales, and father-in-law, Vicente Herrera. 

Mr. Gonzales is survived by his loving wife, Susie Herrera; children: Destini C. Herrera (Austin Schmitt), Ashley N. Gonzales (Alvin Garcia), Alexa Gonzales (Cesar Aguilar), and Nickolas R. Gonzales; grandchildren: Coen K. Gonzales and Hazen Noah Garcia. He also leaves behind his cherished cat, Puma, and will be dearly missed by Philip Santana, Ignacio, Homer, Jason, and Doc Jose Salazar.

A visitation has been arranged for Monday, April 15, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m., at Los Fresnos Funeral Home. 

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., also at Los Fresnos Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Nickolas Gonzales, Austin Schmitt, Alvin Garcia, Ricky Garcia, Cesar Aguilar, Anthony Gonzales Jr., Philip Santana, and Raul Gonzales; while Homer, Ignacio, Doc Jose Salazar, and Jason have been named as Honorary pallbearers.

In recognition of Anthony's hospice care team's dedication and support for him and his family, we extend a heartfelt thank you to the hospice members and staff: Philip Santana, Crystal, Rebecca, Paula, Joel; as well as nurse practitioner Sharon.

Following Anthony's wishes, his family kindly requests attendees wear white attire during the services.
